The TARC_Shelters dataset contains all point locations of shelters at bus stops in the Louisville metropolitan area. One shape and one record exists for each individual stop location. Data is updated to August 2017. Point data was obtained from TARC's list of shelters. The TARC.TARC_Bus_Stops dataset contains all point locations of fixed-route bus stops in the Louisville metropolitan area. One shape and one record exists for each individual stop location. Stop locations are current for the August 2016 Schedule. Point data was obtained from an exported shapefile from Trapeze, TARC's scheduling software. Latitude and longitude represent stop location in Trapeze for purpose of routing buses and may not match exact latitude and longitude on the ground. STOP_CODE is TARC's unique ID number for all stops and should be used when referring to a specific stop over the STOP_ID. STOP_NAME is the location, usually street intersection, of the stop; other times the name is a landmark. These fields were generated by Trapeze.

Internally assigned ID number. Corresponds to Stop ID listed on Google Maps. STOP_ABBR should be used when referring to specfic stops, as it is a unique identifier.
Descriptive identifier of stop location, usually in the form of on street @ cross street.
Longitudinal coordinates assigned by Trapeze. May not align with actual stop location on the street, as stops are placed for routing purposes in the software.
Latitudinal coordinates assigned by Trapeze. May not align with actual stop location on the street, as stops are placed for routing purposes in the software.
Direction of bus travel at the shelter. Depending on the line, direction will be northbound, southbound, eastbound, or westbound. Direction corresponds to bus route direction, not necessarily the direction on the street.
