The TARC.Fixed_Route dataset contains all fixed routes serving the Louisville metropolitan regional area. One shape and one corresponding record exist for each individual transit route. The routes reflect routing changes and additions for the schedule beginning November 6, 2017. Lines were obtained from Remix. This application uses TARC's route data via Google's General Transit Feed Specification (GTFS), which originates from Trapeze transit software. These lines are derived from street centerlines, but do not exactly match street centerlines. The fields of ROUTE_NUMBER and ROUTE_NAME were created from the original fields. ROUTE_TYPE and TARC_WEB fields were created to assist consumers of the data.
Data access is restricted to LOJIC Participants, contractors, and Licensees only.

Express - Routes generally connecting residential areas and activity centers via a high speed, non-stop connection, e.g., a freeway, or exclusive right-of-way such as a dedicated busway with limited stops at each end for collection and distribution. Residential collection can be exclusively or partially undertaken using park-and-ride facilities. Circulator - Routes that provide a connecting link between urban local routes, and many times serve as suburban circulators.
