The Jefferson County Property Valuation Adminstrator (PVA) maintains a number of extensive databases that record the nearly 300,000 parcels in Jefferson County, Kentucky. The Real Estate Master File (REMF) databases contain a multitude of detailed property information such as deed references, property ownership, historical data, assessment values, and property characteristics. REMF data along with the associated GIS layers, serves both as a primary source for all of PVA's operations and as a source of revenue.

Brief Introduction to the LOJIC Database
The
LOJIC GIS contains extensive databases for Jefferson, Bullitt and
Oldham
Counties (Kentucky) and limited, initial data for surrounding
regions. This data is
accessible to LOJIC users, in ESRI ArcGIS. The
LOJIC GIS database includes a wide range of digital map and tabular
databases
which were developed through contracted and in-house data conversion
efforts
involving photogrammetric compilation, direct digitizing and
raster/vector
conversion as well as a number of tabular databases which are routinely
ported
to LOJIC from other database management systems maintained by LOJIC
participants. Subsequent pages of this document provide
detailed
information concerning the characteristics, description, status, point
of
contact, and feature attribute tables/data dictionaries of all layers
within
the LOJIC GIS database.
All graphic
layers in
the
LOJIC GIS
are based on the Kentucky Coordinate System, North Zone -- FIPS Code
1601, North
American
Datum of 1983 (NAD83) using the GRS1980 ellipsoid. All elevation data
are based
on the North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD 88). The Map
units are in
U.S. Feet
LOJIC
users are encouraged to supply any additional databases that may be
deemed
useful and beneficial to the shared LOJIC GIS. For additional
information
regarding database additions and modifications or LOJIC GIS database
