What is the Voter Connection?

The Voter Connection allows you to quicky determine where to vote without having to call the Board of Elections. It tells you your precinct, polling location and address as well as your elected officials and how to contact them. You also can view a map showing your address and the polling location. Here are tips to help you determine address entry problems:  

    Make sure you have typed in the correct street number.
    Make sure that you have correctly spelled the street name. Do not type in street type with the street name in street name entry box.
    Make sure that you have selected the correct street direction.
    Make sure that you select street type from the pulldown list. Do not type in street type with the street name in street name entry box..
    Most addresses do not contain a half house or a street type suffix and many do not have a street direction. A few, like Broadway, do not have a street type.
    Where people vote depends on where people live. Therefore, only residences not businesses have polling locations. To find the elected officials representing a business location, go to the My Louisville Interactive Map .

Example:   800 East Main Street

    800 - Typed in by user.
    East - Selected from Pulldown List.
    Main - Typed in by user.
    Street - Selected from Pulldown List.

Address Entry Example:

If you live in an apartment, only type in the house number, select street direction (if applicable), type in street name, and select street type. Do not enter an apartment number.

Example: For "9109 Raintree Drive, Apt 1" Enter "9109 Raintree Drive"

Printing the Polling Location Map:

To print the Polling Location Map as it appears on the screen, you must select the 'As laid out on screen' printer option in your browser print setup window.  

Information about the Data:

Knowing how accurate and current the data in the maps is essential to clearly understand the maps. The address information in Voter Connection comes from the Board of Election's Official Precinct/Street Index and is updated as needed. The address information is updated daily by the official addressing authority in Jefferson County - the Division of Planning and Development Services. The political information is updated as needed by the Board of Elections.
